Balance Discussion / Re: Community Version Balance Feedback

'slow clapping' what a gold comedy u guys got here going... actualy made me log in on forum first time in 4 months or so

1 there is a "slight" difference between "leaving game which u think is unwinnable" and "leaving a game which is unwinable"... first one is done by people like mwhahhahaha that after failing at literaly everything for 20 min start flaming me for 2 min then leave the game so I can win it 4 min later... in a way I suppose he was right- it truly was unwinnable for zerg before he left...
second one on other hand is something u may be little less familiar with as its probably little above ur experience thershold but play few thousands games more, gain little more  wr and u too will be quite accurately conclude that for example playing zerg with 10-27 ally when there is sorceres on his side is nothing but a waste of time

2 as for leaving bc of f2 before 2:15- it has nothing to do with stats or challange tbh... quite opposite, its a pinnacle of stategy - zerg uses aaaaaaaaaaaamazing and totaly prooooooooo strat that only true micro gods can pull off aka press 2 buttons, aclick mid so I counter with equally demanding strat of pressing 2 buttons and giving zerg exactly what he wanted- 1 less terran in
game... "he didnt want dead eco with it"? och well, then maybe in next game he will think a little longer before giving terran incentive to leave when it is better for terran team if one of them leave (which is btw totaly *ed just as early capacity u want unlocked)

1% may agree with you but 90% love me more
exactly!!!
this 1% of good terrans will agree with him while 90% of people on ur skill lvl will feel butthurt and flame him

u couldnt say it better

great post

only thing I would add would be going into a little more detail that lowest supply cost spawners - slowlings and ofc limited striks- are a way to eco
many players just go with highest tier unit they have to the the point that if u get armor 3 for infused its very real posibility that ur random ally will start just massing primals without care

also one general rule of "do not get tanklings" would also help economy of many zergs

number of things that makes absolutely 0 sense in this topic is truly impressive... so lets get over them one by one

1) zerg fully focusing 1 terran IS indeed able to push him to highground, if u didnt manage that then either u are bad, or ur agroo went too late so terran got enough income off his first 4 fruit farms, usualy even as little as 2 min of freedom are enough to hold vs zerg with bad micro
2) 5% zerg winratio is (once again) player not race issue, does zerg loses 100% of the time in 6 man stacked lobby? yes... BUT (and its rly HUGE BUT) there is never and I mean NEVER 6 rly
good top tier terrans in a lobby, I will say more- unless some party is playing 4 or even 3 is a bloody miracle, while despite all this wall of text about :"how long this arcade was here:" lvl of most terrans is swimming somewhere in some deep DEEP pit, as such even wr ranging up to 80% and more is very much possible on zerg... long way from ur 5%

3) this post about when which eco kicks in just gives me a headache...terran peaking on 10 min??? zerg being stronger on 25??????? good terran if mood struck him can have 1k+ and max gen on 20 as for zerg eco its just f**k up to the point its not worth mentioning, even if u go for full eco u will never catch up to good terran as he will auto cast elites long before u will get this "adventage" ( tho like said before "good terran" truly is endangered specie in this game so it doesnt matter)

4) as for scdpride- he is just someone with 0 ability to assess situation and lvl of agreoo he is receiving
u as zerg may literaly not build anything on him, starting with spire and 3 lings on other terran and only micro his base units and he will fall to one gas and later claim how much of full focus he held... so I would suggest to just ignoe his words in this regard as he rly is quite disconnected from reality

5) and last thing, u people rly need to stop with the mindset "terrans on 3 gas- stacked lobby"... 3 gas is not a measure of good terran, it is ABSOLUTE MINIMUM to be at least considered decent... good terran will, like I said have 1k eco on 20 min or kill ur spires on 12-13 and then big spines around 14-15 if he feels like so while most terrans that manage to fail their way to 3 gas will do 20 min vet push to take thier nest and claim that "they did dmg to zerg"

for me hydra is needed to stop them from killing your initial nest and late game is to hold them from taking to much creep from you.   Its a number game at that point late game wise.  30 elites will kill 40 hydra at a concave ( no stim or bubble), but at the cost of losing many elites which in most cases good players will back up when they run out of stim.  It acts as a buffer to stall the terran long for other things.

when you attack your hydras at a concave vs marines, a few things can occur:

1.  they don't stim or bubble and terrans' proceed to lose all their marines or the trade is in favor of zerg
2.  they stim or bubble which you can do 2 things
2.1a - you can proceed to lose all your hydras and now you're stuck with a huge investments of def with no hydras
2.2a - force the stim/bubble, wait for the cooldown and begin to smash them again in which they will back up till stim or bubble is back up

building hydra below 2k eco will hurt you in the long run, building them at 2k + (not constantly building) won't affect you to much and will still allow you to eco.

lag is a big factor in all of this, I can micro hydras on 2 coordinated attack.  I can't however micro 2 fronts, deny the extra gas, tranfuse and handle the lag all at once.

my optimal play is always all spawner on 1 terran while defensing the other side and mid.
or 3 thing can happen
vets appear and outtrade hydra anytime of the day

also, as hydra doesnt have more range than rins even if u react perfectly in the same second terran poped stim 30t1 will still take a layer off ur hydra, and then with even less range they are even more useless

Hydra at range 7 is fine, 6 is a skeptic, but when they are down to their last shell they are useless.

The AI for hydra are quite dumb so your sim city needs to be polish enough for the hydra to move freely.  You really do need to hotkey and pre split on them for them to be effective with enough creep tumor for creep for the hydras to move correctly.

20 hydra hotkey and presplit on hold command will always do better than 100 hydra that you decide to box and click attack on the minimap. High probability they will get stuck and only 3 hydras are attacking at a time

Hydra however do not fare well vs stim and bubble.  I suguest a longer cooldown for bubble and shortly duration for stim.  This is honestly where i think most zerg fails hard, they dont move back and they lose all their investments in def units.  At 2k income, hydra are basically free

7 range much fine...
its so fine that I actualy never make more than 3 hydra bc more would just feel unfair to the terran

I also want to officialy thank u in the name of community for sharing with us,lesser ones, the bigbrain strats of not sending our hydras into bubble from a choke
I must admit its such revolutionary thing it never even crossed my mind, now I will never again lose my hydras to 60 t1! THANKS
actualy now that this pro strat is know I would actualy want to propose neft to hydra range by 1 to offset this power spike that will no doubt happen when everyone learn to use them properly

hydra are really nice right now, not too op, not too weak. Problem isn't hydras.

Don't change hydras.

u dont think they trade way too well ? when they come before you have masss marines or even just when u build the armory

I think a common sentiment in the forum is that early hydras are too strong but late game they seem to be fine.
I've been needing much more T1s to do a reasonable push now but once I reach higher tech the hydra count basically doesn't matter anymore.
early game hydras are fine, late game ones are useless
