I agree in the sense that it enables more macro, but if you are always designing a game so the bad players can compete then its gonna be the most basic boring game that the advanced players will capitalize and win anyways.

You have to find either an easy medium, or a design that allows progressive learning for new players to scale up.

As for the upgrade, it's gonna prevent all the noobs who capacity spawners as soon as they build and kill their eco. It does slow their mass but forces them to learn to eco as opposed to upgrading their starting spawners for no effect at the start.

Hell no, you say that like you have played zerg hex once and played as zerg and was stomped by marines... Shatter is essential to terran survival.

I've seen master+ 1v1 player's play zerghex, and they tend to get by as zerg but usually thrash the zerg as terran with their high apm capabilities. It takes a few games of zerg to actually figure out how to play, or a few games against zerg to understand the meta.

But yeah, zerg is pretty unplayable atm :/
